History of the Botanical Garden in Bastions

Vue du Jardin botanique établi à l'instigation de Candolle dans le Parc des Bastion à Genève. Gravue de Lescuyer, 1824 (Icon. BGE)

This project aims to study the sources deposited in "Archives d'Etat" in Geneva in order to evaluate the Botanical Garden's in Bastion (1817-1830). Founded by Augustin-Pyramus de Candolle, this institut will become the Conservatory and Botanical Garden of Geneva. The elements related to the private botanical gardens in Geneva in the XVIIIth century and to the first botanical garden of the St Leger SPHN (1790-1820) have been also taken into account in this study.
