Habit, vegetative morphology.— Tree, evergreen, 15 m tall. Current year's branchlets glabrous. Branchlets older than one year glabrous. Lenticels on current year's branchlets present. Petiole glabrous, rough or grooved surface, (5.5–)7–11(–12.9) mm. Lamina elliptic, oblong (1:2), 6–11 X, 2–6.5 cm, coriaceous, glabrous abaxially. Base obtuse to rounded. Apex obtuse to acute. Apex acuminate. Margin revolute, dentate, teeth inconspicuous. Teeth over the entire length of the margin. Midbrid adaxially raised, glabrous. Midbrid abaxially raised, glabrous. Secondary veins abaxially evident to obscure. Tertiary veins abaxially obscure. Ponctuation abaxiallly present.

Inflorescences.— Thyrse, non proliferating.

Male flowers.— Cymes of order 2. Peduncles of order 1 5–13 mm. Pherophylls of order 1 at 6–8 tenth from the base. Peduncles of order 2 1–3 mm. Male flowers 4–5 -merous, green ("pale green"). Calyx margin entire or margin ciliate or dentate. Corolla 2.5–3.25 mm. Apex margin entire. Stamens at the anthesis shorter than corolla. Rudimentary ovary pyramidal.

Distribution, ecology.— South America, Venezuela (Distrito Federal, Colonia Tovar), 2000–2200 m, forêt des nuages.

Flowering.— July.
