Peduncles of order 2 1–2.5 mm. Pherophylls of order 2 at 0–4 tenth from the base. Bracts linear-triangular, glabrous, 0.7–1.5 mm, margin entire. Pherophylls of order 1 opposite or subopposite or alternate, deltoid, glabrous, 0.3–0.5 mm, margin entire. Male flowers 4 -merous. Calyx glabrous, 1.5–2.5 mm in diam., margin entire. Corolla 2–2.5 mm, petals connate on, petals 10–20 % of their length. Apex margin entire. Stamens at the anthesis equal to corolla or shorter than corolla. Rudimentary ovary subglobulous or flattened, glabrous.

Female flowers.— Thyrses axes solitary and axillary. Thyrses axes 0.2–0.6 cm. Cymes of order 1. Peduncles glabrous or pubescent (Cuatrecasas 18281 T de I.caliana). Peduncles of order 1 3–7 mm. Pherophylls of order 1 at 0–4 tenth of the base (5, 6–9 chez Cuatrecasas 18281 T de I.caliana). Bracts linear-triangulate, glabrous, 1–3 mm, margin entire. Pherophylls of order 1 opposite or subopposite or alternate, deltoids, glabrous, 0.2–0.6 mm, margin entire. Female flowers 4 -merous, white (blanchâtre) or green (verdâtre). Calyx glabrous, margin entire, 2–4 mm in diam. Corolla 2.5–4 mm, petals free or connate on, petals 5–10 % of their length. Apex margin entire (possibly beaded). Staminodes sagittate, glabrous. Ovary spherical, glabrous, stigma mamillate or capitate, stigma glabrous.
