Ilex magnifructa in litt. Edwin

Habit, vegetative morphology.— Tree (petit), evergreen, 6 m tall. Petiole 2–4 mm. Lamina ovate to elliptic, oblong (1:2), 7–9 X, 3.7–4.5 cm, coriaceous. Base acute to obtuse. Apex rounded to obtuse. Apex retuse or rounded. Margin revolute, entire. Secondary veins 5–7 pairs. Ponctuation abaxiallly present.

Inflorescences.— Thyrse or solitary dichasium, proliferating.

Female flowers.— Cymes of order 1. Peduncles of order 1 26–32 mm. Female flowers 4 -merous.

Fruits.— Fruit ovoid to spherical, 8–8.5 mm in diam., 5.5 mm.

Distribution, ecology.— South America, Venezuela (Amazonas, Cerro Yutaje), 1250 m, bord de rivière, petite savane.
