Habit, vegetative morphology.— Tree or shrub, evergreen, 1–3 m tall. Current year's branchlets pubescent. Branchlets older than one year smooth or furrowed, greyish, glabrous. Lenticels on current year's branchlets absent or hardly visible. Internodes 0.3–0.7 cm. Stipules caducous, linear-triangular, 0.5 mm. Petiole glabrous, rough or grooved surface, 2–4 mm. Lamina elliptic or obovate (plus rarement obovale), oblong (1:2), 5–10 X, 3–6.5 cm, coriaceous, glabrous abaxially. Base obtuse or rounded. Apex rounded or obtuse, mucronate. Apex retuse or emarginate or rounded. Margin revolute, entire. Midbrid adaxially impressed, glabrous. Midbrid abaxially raised, glabrous. Secondary veins abaxially obscure, 5–8 pairs. Tertiary veins abaxially obscure. Ponctuation abaxiallly present.

Inflorescences.— Thyrse, proliferating.

Female flowers.— Thyrses axes solitary and axillary. Thyrses axes 2–10 cm. Cymes of order 1–2. Peduncles glabrous or pubescent (poils très courts). Peduncles of order 1 1.5–1.8 mm. Pherophylls of order 1 at 2–3 tenth of the base or 7–8 tenth of the base. Peduncles of order 2 n'apparaissent que les cicatrices de ces fleurs. Bracts linear-triangulate, glabrous, 1.5–2 mm, margin entire. Pherophylls of order 1 opposite, linear-triangulate, glabrous, 0.5 mm, margin entire. Female flowers 4 -merous. Calyx pubescent (poils très courts), margin entire, 3–3.5 mm in diam.

Fruits.— Fruit black, ovoid, 4–5 mm in diam., 6–7 mm.

Distribution, ecology.— South America, Venezuela (Bolívar: Macizo del Chimantá (Agparamán-tepui), 1900–2000 m, Montane forest below sandstone escarpments.
