The Shrub Collection in Pots

The Botanical Garden houses a collection of trees and shrubs, in contemporary pots, that can be seen in summer on the terraces of the Winter Garden.

They spend the winter months undercover, either in our temperate greenhouse for the most spectacular ones, or in the Pregny greenhouses.

Certain of these plants were already displayed in the Parc des Bastions. They are, in the case of the most voluminous ones, real giant Bonsai’s, and their roots and branches have to be pruned each year.
