Convention sur l'échange de matériel végétal

Conformément à la Convention sur la Biodiversité (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), article 15 (accès aux ressources génétiques), les Conservatoire et Jardin botaniques ont adoptés une politique concernant l'échange du matériel végétal entre les institutions scientifiques et horticoles.

Voici les conditions en découlant :

• a) La marchandise proposée est disponible seulement à des fins scientifiques, pour la conservation et le développement de collections agréées.
• b) Nous insistons sur le fait que, en cas de commercialisation du matériel génétique, des produits ou de la recherche qui en dérivent, l'utilisateur doit en informer et demander l'autorisation aux Conservatoire et Jardin botaniques de la Ville de Genève, car l'utilisation commerciale du matériel végétal est régie par une convention spéciale.
• c) Nous demandons d'être cités dans toute publication découlant d'un travail effectué avec du matériel provenant de notre institut, ainsi que de recevoir un exemplaire de celle-ci.

Exchange of Plant Material - General information

Convention on the Exchange of Plant Material

Following the international Convention on Biological Diversity (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), article 15 (access to genetic ressources) especially concerning the exchange of plant material, the Conservatory and Botanical Garden of Geneva have adopted a policy on spplying seed to the scientific and horticultural community.

Here are the following conditions :

• a) The plant material is used solely for scientific research, conservation of species and the development of recognized collections.
• b) In the case of commercial use of the genetic material, its products or research derived from it, the user has to inform and seek the permission from the Conservatory and Botanical Garden of the City of Geneva because a commercial use of plant material is subject to a special convention.
• c) We expect that any research publication resulting from the use of the plant material will acknowledge the Botanical Garden of Geneva as a supplier, and that we receive an unsolicited reprint.
