Johnny Rasse et Jean Boucault sont deux artistes peu banals : ils sont en effet reconnus comme les plus grands interprètes de chants d’oiseaux sans appeaux. Mettant à profit des techniques primitives de chant et de sifflement, ils imitent des milliers de sonorités d’oiseaux des cinq continents. Ces chants viennent se mêler à différentes pièces du répertoire de musique classique, nous rappelant l’inspiration que les compositeurs ont depuis toujours été chercher vers la faune ailée. Johnny Rasse and Jean Boucault are two rather uncommon artists: they are known as the greatest performers of birdsongs without instruments! Building on primitive singing and whistling techniques, their repertoire includes thousands of bird sounds from five continents. These songs are then combined with various pieces from the classical repertoire, reminding us of the inspiration which composers have always sought from wildlife. A magical moment to be experienced outdoors on the Ella Fitzgerald stage, probably with the serendipitous participation of the park’s own birds…
