French ethnologist and linguist, in charge of the Malagasy collections at the Musée de l'Homme in Paris between 1934 and 1949, Jacques Faublée carried out several missions to Madagascar, the first in 1938 to the Bara population. His impressive collection of images in the "Big Island" highlights many aspects of the Malagasy reality that was so dear to him.
