Paratypes:
MHNG 2172.90 (3) . Collected with the type [Brésil: Rio Negro basin, Praio (=beach) Bulufu on the Rio Itu, the collecting place is about 80 km. upstream from the meeting with the Rio Negro, Lat. about 0 30' S., Long. about 63 30' W [error: = 63 15', pers. comm. J. Géry]; 26.IV.1964; lg. Martin R. Brittan & H. W. Schwartz [with two caboclos].

Remarque: espèce-type du genre Brittanichthys; CJG 412; 3 (sur 4 ) des 19 paratypes, 1 paratype au ZMA (VI. 1975); autres paratypes du lot au USNM (7), SU [CAS] (4), SSU (4).
