Medusa of Staurocladia wellingtoni Schuchert, 1996 (Anthomedusae, Cladonematidae), diameter about 7 mm, from Wellington, New Zealand. Although a medusae, it is not anymore able to swim freely. The animal uses the adhesive ends on the lower tentacles to attach itself to seaweeds and to walk on them. It is thus a secondarily benthic organism. |
