Biology : Compact shrub 1,2-1,5 m tall, 1,8 m Ø, branching from the base, sparsely rebranching above; branches 4-6-angled, deeply winged, regularly constricted into segment 3-4 cm long, 4-7 cm wide;
Ecology : Exposed rocky limestone slopes and gravelly plain with sparse xerophytic scrub; also gypsaceous soils; 1140-2000 m alt.
  Still rare in cultivation.
  Near E. grandicornis.
