Biology : Spreading succulent cushion-like perennial, densely branching from the base; branches shortly decumbent or erect to 30 cm tall, cylindrical, to 2 cm thick, with 8-10 longitudinal ribs (angles), without teeth; spiny.
Ecology : Covering flat granite surfaces; small soil pockets and cracks in the rock; ± 1400-1750 m alt.
  Easily grown in cultivation and presenting no unusual problems.
  Affinity with E. inaequispina.
