Biology : Candelabra-like shrub or tree to 4,5-6 m tall, apparently without a distinct trunk forming large clumps to 12 m Ø; new shoots arising from the base; branches 3-6-angled, 4,5 cm thick, constricted at intervals to 4,5 cm long, angles somewhat winged,
Ecology : Dry coastal plains; occasional; often planted as a hedge plant.
  In cultivation, this fast growing species should be protected from cold.
