Biology : Candelabriform, succulent, spiny tree ± 5(-7) m tall with a short stout trunk ± 22,5(-30) cm Ø and numerous spreading ascending, persistent, winged branches which are simple or occasionally rebranched from about the middle,
Ecology : Euphorbia-Combretum thicket; open Colophospermum mopane-Commiphora savanna; steep stony hillside; Mopane-Commiphora-Combretum association, Karroo sandstone; basalt rock; ± 700 m alt.
  Presents no unusual difficulties in cultivation.
  Near E. cooperi.
