Biology : Spiny, fleshy shrub, woody at the base, 1-2 m tall with a main stem and numerous spreading-erect, subcyclindric branches with spirally arranged tubercles 5-10 mm apart; leaves spathulate to triangular-obovate, dentate to lacerate at apex, 2-5x1,5-2 cm;
Ecology : Sandstone rocks, laterite.
  Confused with E. paganorum ; from Togo only sterile material known.
