Biology : Erect herb to 1 m tall, slightly woody at base, branching after flowering from below racemes, often in whorls.
Ecology : Weed of cultivation; roadsides; sandy soil; to 1200 m alt. in Ethiopia.
  Perhaps an ancient introduction from the New World; Yemen, Pakistan.
