Biology : Perennial herb, with tuberous cylindrical or subspherical roots to 2 cm Ø, produced in chains; annual stems 1-2, to 20 cm high, produced from ± 4 cm below ground; leaves subsessile, lanceolate, to 5 x 1,5 cm, apex acute, margin minutely toothed.
Ecology : Brachystegia woodland on sand; 450-830 m alt.
  Known only from 2 collections. - Near M. nervosum, M. pedunculatum.
