Biology : Perennial, erect, fleshy, hysteranthous plant with a tuberous, napiform root to 4 cm Ø and 5 cm high; perennial stems 1-2, erect, rounded, almost subterranean, 5 cm high and 1,2 cm Ø; annual stems 1-5, erect, fleshy, rounded, 3-8 cm long and 4-5 mm Ø;
Ecology : Wooded savanna patches in open forest; ± deep soil on laterite, temporarily flooded; 1350 m alt.
  Near M. trinerve.
