Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Perennial herb, with a subglobose tuberous root to ± 5 cm Ø; stems to 45 cm high, unbranched; leaves to 9 x 6 cm, suborbicular to ovate, sometimes reddened, margin tightly crisped, with petiole ± 6 mm long.
Ecology : Rocks and rocky hillsides in Brachystegia woodland; 375-1210 m alt.
  Not in Tanzania (= M. echinulatum ).
