Biology : Perennial herb, with an elongated tuberous root producing a woody subterranean stem to 2 cm long; annual stems 1-3, to 5 cm high, with to 4 branches; leaves sessile, linear, to 15 x 3 mm.
Ecology : Grassland with hardpan soils; 1200 m alt.
  Only known from the type collected in 1931. - Near M. herbaceum.
