Biology : Geophytic perennial herb with a napoid tuberous root to 7 cm Ø, producing 1-3 subterranean stems 1-3 cm long; annual stems 2-6 cm high; leaves in rosettes at the apices of the stems, obovate, to ± 9 x 4,5 cm, apex rounded, midrib prominent beneath;
Ecology : Sandy soil amongst rocks and deciduous woodland; Brachystegia woodland on stony hillsides and lateritic rocky places; in gritty soils with short grass; 750-1500 m alt.
  Possibly in SE Zaire.
  Near M. letestuanum.
