Biology : Perennial with thick, fleshy roots; stems succulent, sparingly branched, erect, to ± 45 cm high or decumbent to 80 cm long and rooting, to 3 cm Ø, cylindrical, covered with tubercles to 5 mm high from ± diamond-shaped tessellations ± 10x8 mm;
Ecology : Granite outcrops and amongst rocks on hillsides in shade, in Brachystegia woodland; 65-1200 m alt.
