Biology : Much branched annual or perennial herb, or suffrutex, dioecious; stems weak, trailing or scrambling, to 3 m in extent, hollow, cylindric, ribbed.
Ecology : Grassland; rain-forest margins; shady riverbanks in forest; thickets; wooded granite kopjes; 1340-2300 m alt.
  S. Africa; first reported outside by Milne-Redhead in 1951 from Malawi; first collected outside in 1931 from Zimbabwe.

Biol./Eco : biology: annual (occ. perennial)-Herb - Ht 0.2 - 1 m. Alt: 3 - 2500 m. Distribution: LES, EC, KN, LP, MP, WC, SWZ
