Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Evergreen tree to 30 m with an open spreading crown; stem to ± 1 m Ø, unbranched to 8 m, with stiltroots to 2,5 m.
Ecology : Dense evergreen swamp forest (mushitu); wet plateau riverine forest and fringing woodland; swampy ground in evergreen forest; less often in drier Brachystegia-Uapaca woodland; 400-1650 m alt.
