Grassland seasonally flooded; marshes; 0-2550 m alt. Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland, S. Africa; Madagascar; not in the Comoro Is.; not in Asia (= H. gramineum G. Forster). Very closely related to H. relictum from Colombo (ancient long-distance dispersal?). |
