Ecology and distribution

Biology : Very similar to C. johnstonii but inflorescence bracteate; nodes of inflorescence mostly 2-flowered; flowers blue or white, 1-1,2x0,3-0,4 cm (not 1,2-1,8x0,3-0,6 cm). Leaf blade more like that of C. cordifolium: ovate-orbicular and deeply cordate, to 8,5 cm long, 10 cm wide. Capsule unknown.
Ecology : Near streams, probably shady margins of riverine forest; 125-600 m alt.
  Rare: only 4 collections known (1899, 1959 + 1964, 1976, 1977).
