Biology : Near D. hirtiflora and D. schimperiana but: tepals 0,45-1,2 mm long, tepals caught together at the tip so that the open flower has 3 slits wherein stand the 3 fertile stamens, without staminodes; seeds ?
Ecology : Rain-forest (in breaks where fallen trees on rivers or footpaths let light fall under the canopy); secondary forest; clearings; it seems commonest along large rivers; hills; Manihot cultivation; fallows; regrowth; sandy-clayey soils: 100-1150 m alt.
