Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Shrub or herb 1,5 m high; the climbing or suberect shoots 20- 100(-150) cm, growing from an erect, ± woody succulent stem to 30(-60) cm by 1,5(-2) cm arising from a tuberous rootstock; sterile tendrils to 10 cm long, or absent.
Ecology : Acacia-Commiphora bushland, rocky places, clayey soils; lava, granite, black cotton soil, red sandy soil or loam; 30-1500 m alt.
