Biology : Acaulous plant with a branched ribbon-like thallus; dwarf 1- 7-8 short buttresses; flowers in large numbers, white, conspicuous, base, inner leaves subtending the flower.

Ecology : Moss-like plant on smooth granite rocks in fast-flowing stream; on exposed basalt boulders below high waterfall; c. 1400 m alt. Not in Mali Very few collections known (Nigeria, Cameroon); red data listed.
