Biology : Spreading shrub to 1,5 m tall, or tree to 6 m; bark smooth or peeling in papery flakes.
Ecology : Acacia-Commiphora woodland and bushland on limestone or on red sandy soil overlying limestone; Combretum-Sterculia woodland on lava hills; also on gypsum; 10-1300 m alt. Very near S. arabica (R. Br.) T. Anders. from Yemen.
