Ecology : Grassland; moorland; in Hagenia and often in the ericaceous zone; rocky steppe; Juniperus forest, especially in its moister parts; shallow sandy soil overlying quartzite; 1800-4000 m alt.
  The distribution area corresponds partly to that of Anemone thomsonii.
