Trop. Afr.
Biology : Ramose shrub 0,8-3 m tall, with erect branches.
Ecology : Swampy grassland, marshy places, stream-bank, valley, fallow rice fields; forest fringes, thickets on margins of damp depressions; 1100-1200 m alt. Very showy; well worth cultivation (beautiful purple flowers).
