Biology : Evergreen shrub or usually small tree, 3-15(-20) m, with many stout finger-like pneumatophores and spreading branches.
Ecology : Outer-fringe constituent of mangrove-swamps in very deep mud; sea-level. Madagascar, Comoro Isl., Seychelles; SE Continental Asia and Andaman Isl. through to N Australia, S Riu Kiu Isl., Micronesia, Salomon Isl., New Hebrides, New Caledonia.
