Ecology : Rain- and mist-forest; degraded montane forest with Nuxia congesta, Syzygium staudtii, Prunus africana, Podocarpus milanjiana; 1500-2400 m alt.
  Possibly extinct in Cameroon and W-C Africa, and survives only in E Arc Mts. of Tanzania
