Biology : Herb (4-)10-22 cm tall, terrestrial, with stout compact rhizome, 2-8 mm , apex of foliated part often erect, forming a stem to 2 cm long; leaves peltate; inflorescences branched, of 2 types: ¢ and hermaphrodite; fruit 4-winged.
Ecology : (Sub-)montane forest or scrub, in shade, in moist or rather dry places; on rocks, damp vertical rock faces; 1500-2300 m alt. Very few collections known (Nigeria, Cameroon) fide Cheek & al., Pl. Mt. Oku..., Cameroon: 56, 117, 2000; red data listed.
