Biology : Leafless, dioecious, large but delicate shrub, older plants forming long pendulous masses to 2 m; distal branches flattened, narrowed (internodes), 1-2 mm Ø; fruit orange, smooth.
Ecology : Montane evergreen rain-forests and adjacent woodland; forest margins; plateau near stream; on Toddalia, Allophylus, Bridelia brideliifolia, Sapium ellipticum.
  900-2350 m alt.Similar to V. goetzei (a small erect shrub with a totally different haustorial system, and an obligate epiparasite on Englerina);also resembling V.shirense but internodes narrower and fruits larger.A member of the V. shirense group
