  1500-2500 m alt.Similar to C. barbeyana, C. leonardii, and perhaps all conspecific (fide Verdcourt, Fl. Trop. E. Afr., Vitac.: 23, 1993).C. oxyodonta (Bak.) Desc. from Madagascar also seems related.
