Ecology : Forest; riverine forest fringes; woodland slopes above river valleys; Hyphaene-Trichilia-Sorindeia associations.
  0-450 m alt. Difficult to distinguish from C. polyantha, C. oliveri. Similar in general appearance to C. grisea but fruit and leaf margin different.
