Ecology : In long grass by roads,common , in Sierra Leone.
  up to 1200 m alt.According to F. White (Kew Bull. 1951: 57, 1951) this plant combines characters of C. caesia (glaucous young stems and curly hairs on leaves beneath) and of C. rufescens (indumentum)“The evidence suggests that they are in fact hybrids.”
