Biology : Twiggy shrub, much-branched and somewhat straggling, to 3 'm, or (after burning) flowering on erect branched almost herbaceous 'shoots 60 cm tall (geoxylic suffrutex fide Vollesen, Nord. 'J. Bot. 1: 735-740, 1981).
Ecology : Deciduous woodland, grassland with scattered trees and riverine forest; persisting on roadsides and waste places (E Africa); dry woodland or bushland or in transitional areas in Brachystegia woodland or in grassland (Fl. Zambes. area).
