Biology : Annual (or surviving to a subsequent season) erect herb, 10-25 '(-43) cm, simple or branched.
Ecology : Sandy plains, especially where these are situated within hilly regions; rocky habitats (rock crevices and rocky hillslopes). Rainfall ranges: 500-750 mm. Botswana, S. Africa, Namibia.
