Trop. Afr.
Biology : Shrub, erect with stems slender, angular, rib-striate, clothed with close or spreading-yellowish pubescence 0,60-0,90 m tall.
Ecology : Margins of mountain forests; old garden near fresh-water lake; basaltic rocks, savanna; (215-800) 1220-1830 m alt.
  S.Africa, Swaziland, Botswana.
  Comprises 2 groups (see Brummitt l.c. for details). A taxonomic revision of the whole taxon needed. Var. longidens H. M. L. Forbes reported from S. Africa.
  Confused with T.purpurea.
