Ecology : Tall grass savanna on sand; wooded grassland with Acacia, Tamarindus; c. 700 m alt. (Sudan: Imatong Mts.).
  To cite Kers (Fl. Eth. & Erit.): It is closely related to C. sepiaria, but it is uncertain to which variety it belongs.
