Biology : Annual herb with prostrate branches to 2 m long; woody at base. Choise grazing for camels.

Ecology : Subdesert grassland, deciduous bushland on dry sandy soil; open and disturbed places, often on sandy soils, also on clayey patches; becoming a troublesome weed; all types of bushland (Tanzania savanna area); ruderal; 10-2300 m alt.
