Trop. Afr.
Biology : Upright, spreading or prostrate, diffuse subsucculent annual leaves in rosette and 1-3 flowers; leaves 3-5 mm long.
Ecology : Woodlands, savannas, wet hollows and river banks; weed of cultivation; especially on sandy soils; 0-1200 m alt. Comprises 4 vars.: oppositifolius, glomeratus M. L. Gonçalv., lanatus Hauman, parvifolius Hauman S. Africa, Namibia; tropical regions.
