Biology : Shrub, evergreen, much-branched, 1-9 m tall, or sometimes tree to 15-18 m with straight bole to 60 cm ?and regular spreading crown; bark scaly, warty; young twigs flattened.
Ecology : Evergreen forest; fringing, ground-water and swamp forest and thickets; stream banks; forest islands in savanna areas; 1-1350 m alt.
