Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Stemless herb with rhizome c. 2 cm Ø; leaves 1-3 to a growth, firmly coriaceous, lanceolate, 45-106x5-12 cm, apex somewhat acute, margin pale reddish-brown, blade marked with transverse dark and light green bands; inflorescence floriferous, simple, 60-80 cm long; perianth white, 5-7 cm long; berry red, spherical.
Ecology : Drier shady places by streams and rock outcrops; termite mounds in grassland and thicket areas; often abounds on coastal sandbars.
  The commonest of W African sansevierias.
