Shrub 0,5-4 m tall; shoots cane-like; stems regularly covered with prophylls leaving annular scars when deciduous; leaves in pseudowhorls terminating the stems, elliptic, 8-28x1,5-8,5 cm, tip acuminate, base with a pseudopetiole 1-3x0,2-0,7 cm; inflorescence a terminal raceme, sometimes sub-umbellate, 1-6 cm long; flowers in one or several glomerules, white, fragrant, 2,5-5 cm long, tube 1,5-3,1 cm long, lobes 0,8-1,2 cm x 2,5-3,5 mm; fruit dark green becoming yellow-orange, (depressed) globose, 1,1-2,5 cm Ø. |
