Biology : Shrub or shrubby tree to 5 m tall or more; leaves evenly distributed along the branches, ± linear, 5-25x0,7-2 cm, tip acute-subulate to 0,9 cm long, base sheathing 0,8-1,6 cm long, clasping the stem; inflorescence unbranched, 2,5-9 cm long, terminal, sometimes axillary; flowers in 3-5-flowered clusters; flowers to 2,7 cm long, tube c. 1,4 cm long, lobes c. 1,2x0,2 cm; fruit orange(-yellow), globose to somewhat depressed globose, 1,4-2,5 cm Ø.
Ecology : Dense forests; 5-1400 m alt.
  Resembling D. mokoko (cf. Nord. J. Bot. 30: 389-390, 2012).
